Salt Lake City: thriving tech hub and innovation marketplace

Snowshoeing, rock climbing, cycling, skiing, fishing — these are just some of the activities tech companies like Qualtrics list when you ask “Why Utah?” In 2017, Forbes named Salt Lake City the next tech mecca and it isn’t hard to see why. More than 42 startups have been launched there since 2017. The “Silicon Slopes” provide a lower cost of living, more affordable housing prices and a natural playground in which to enjoy downtime.

The Salt Lake City area’s budding tech scene is headed by at least four unicorns, Qualtrics, Domo, InsideSales and Pluralsight, whose founders are passionate about their shared vision of Utah’s future as a tech hub.
